“Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
— Gospel of Matthew 11:29
In the shop and on the track, we understand what a yoke means. It’s a weight. A pull. A load you’re responsible for carrying. Some loads we choose — long nights in the garage, early mornings chasing a dream. But some loads we were never meant to carry — guilt, pride, pressure to prove ourselves, the weight of sin.
Jesus doesn’t tell us to stop working. He tells us to switch yokes.
The world says grind harder, carry more, prove your worth.
Jesus says, “Take My yoke.” His yoke isn’t about performance — it’s about partnership. When we’re connected to Him, He carries the weight with us. He sets the pace. He brings rest to our souls even while our hands stay busy.
In the automotive world, alignment matters. If things are out of line, you feel it in the steering. The ride gets rough. The wear gets uneven. The same is true spiritually. When we’re out of alignment with Christ, life pulls hard. But when we’re yoked to Him — humble, teachable, surrendered — there’s peace even under pressure.
Today, don’t just hustle.
Hook up to the right source.
Let Him set the pace.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for trading my heavy burdens for Your light yoke. Keep my heart aligned with Yours — humble, steady, and faithful. Help me work hard, live boldly, and rest fully in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
