Daily Devotion – Bad Haas Apparel

“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him… For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
— Matthew 12:35–37

In the garage, what’s under the hood always shows up when you hit the throttle. You can’t fake horsepower. When pressure hits and the RPMs climb, whatever’s built inside that engine is what comes out.

It’s the same with us.

When life revs high and tempers flare, what’s stored in our hearts comes roaring out of our mouths. If we’ve been fueling ourselves with pride, anger, and ego — that’s what spills. But if we’ve been tuned by the Spirit, filled with truth, humility, and discipline — that’s what fires off instead.

Jesus makes it clear: our words aren’t harmless exhaust. They reveal the condition of the engine. Every careless word, every cutting comment, every prideful boast — it all matters. That hits hard.

In the hot rod world, we obsess over the build — forged internals, clean wiring, dialed-in timing. But how often do we invest that same intensity into our spiritual build? A good heart doesn’t happen by accident. It’s forged through repentance, Scripture, prayer, and surrender.

The good news? We serve a Savior who doesn’t junk the whole car when it misfires. He rebuilds. He restores. He retunes.

So today, ask yourself:
What’s stored up inside me?
When I open my mouth, does it bring life — or leave damage?

Let’s be men and women whose hearts are built strong in Christ, so when we speak, it’s like clean combustion — powerful, controlled, and life-giving.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, tune my heart like a master builder tunes an engine. Strip out the bitterness, the pride, and the careless speech. Fill me with Your Spirit so that what comes out of me reflects You. May my words carry strength, truth, and grace. Build in me a good heart that overflows with good things. Amen.
